National Institute of Corrections and New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts

Transforming Corrections is in its third year of a cooperative agreement with the National Institute of Corrections to assist the New Mexico Administrative Office of the Courts scale up the implementation of legal and evidence-based pretrial justice systems across the state. The Eleventh and Thirteenth Districts were the first two pilot sites in San Juan and Sandoval Counties. The Third and Sixth Districts joined the statewide implementation in the second year. In this third year, ten counties have joined the statewide pretrial implementation with the addition of the First, Second and Fourth Judicial Districts. Transforming Corrections is using the Stages of Implementation Completion (SIC) instrument developed by the Oregon Social Learning Center as a means of guiding and supporting an implementation science approach in service of achieving faster and better pretrial outcomes.
