Trinity Health: Spiritual Care Champions Program
We take coaching in sports for granted, because we know it is necessary for athletes to get better at what they do. But, when was the last time you were coached? The research is clear that training is not enough for us to become competent as chaplains. Coaching is also necessary if we want to develop and become better at what we are called to be and do. In this webinar, Tom will introduce you to an innovated coaching model that he and his colleague, Brad Bogue, have developed. Chaplains can learn and use this model in peer-coaching or as a mentor/mentee. The coaching model is called COVE which stands for Coaching Options that are Versatile and Effective. COVE integrates five sets of evidence-based practices: role clarification; motivational interviewing; cognitive behavioral therapy, adult development, and coaching. Tom will give a live demonstration of the model during the webinar so you can have a direct experience of it and see if it might be something you would like to integrate into your professional practice and development.
